Hospitality Is An Art

I recently read that hospitality is the art of making others feel welcome, comfortable, and at home. It’s the talent for spreading warmth and kindness that will always be remembered.

Pouring alcohol into shoe

This is my philosophy when it comes to gathering friends and family, this is what my work is based upon. I love that big companies like Chinet agree.

You know, being “social” is more than just liking, sharing and tagging in online social feeds. Chinet invites us to remember what being social used to mean. To me this is evidence that the art of hospitality may be making a come back. Enjoy their new TV campaign and remember to #besocial.

For ways to infuse hospitality into your parties that allow for connection and community, order The Enlightened Party Planner: Guides to Creating Parties From the Heart book series. Reading the first book, The Six Elements to a Successful Party, will provide you with an easy six-step recipe for making your guests feel special.

A Heartfelt Prayer to Mothers Around the World

Parent Connection series. Design composed of graceful profile lines of mother and child as a metaphor on the subject of parenting, motherhood, human connection and familyToday is the day when we pause to give a heartfelt thank you and prayer to the very special women in our lives who gave us the gift of life. Archangel Michael says, “Mothers are truly God’s co-creators and are to be revered.” So thank you moms all over the world for giving of yourselves, for your sacrifice, your guidance, your admiration, and your unconditional love. Your children are forever grateful. May you feel honored by your accomplishments that walk the earth and enjoy being celebrated on this glorious Mother’s Day. Amen.

It is Your Gift

Favorite Patriotic Invite
As we celebrate our Country and our freedom at a time of such political unrest with our two-party system, I wanted to share a statement I heard recently from Derrick N. Ashong, aka DNA, that to me speaks to a growing need. A need for change.

He said:

“Making a change, making the world a better place is not only your responsibility, it is your joy, it is your blessing, it is your gift. It’s your opportunity to make your life mean something…so take it!

Happy New year! Tips for the Year of the Horse

ImageI received this yesterday from my dear loud-and-proud-Chinese girlfriend, Nancy. It has such great advice for the Chinese New Year, I had to share! Besides who doesn’t want to hear about tips for making 2014, the Year of the Green Wood Horse, as spirited as it can be?

1. Trust your intuition but plan carefully.
Think about things you’ve been lulling for years. We’re talking about dreams here! For once, just imagine they can happen. Lay them out — and then believe them! Just be warned — your dreams might actually come true this year!

2. Get ready for some spiritual growth.
The Horse is an animal of many contradictions. Exuberant, flamboyant — but also easily distracted and discouraged. When gloomy thoughts dawn on you, just face them. Get in touch with your inner self and listen. Small adjustments to your personal life aren’t that difficult.

3. Keep a clear mind on money matters.
The world’s still recovering — and probably you, too. Don’t fuss over what could’ve been. Focus on what will be. Take time in setting straight any legal affairs still hanging on you. This year is still a transition, but better times lie ahead for everyone.

4. Appreciate love.
Love’s always there. You may not realize it or be aware of it, but it’s there. How about opening your eyes and seeing the reality of love? It can be a new partner, yes. Someone you’ve just met — even virtually. But it can also be the person you’re living with. The one you’re married to. Just give it a chance. Now is the time.

5. Be patient.
Once on a ride, you don’t want to stop. And this isn’t a merry-go-round — you’re actually going somewhere, and the fun is all in getting there! Savor each day. Smell the flowers — even the ones you think you don’t like. Experience is everything. Wisdom awaits you at the finish line of 2014

The League of Extraordinary Women

391787_10151391707400816_598351814_nI gathered a group of women founded on spirituality, camaraderie and higher-conscienceness. The purpose of our group? To create a think-tank for today’s evolutionary females. We are called the League of Extraordinary Women. Almost two years later, based on feminine power, and sourced by Spirit, the women of LOEW gather quarterly to share knowledge and insights, and to learn about new technologies together. It is an opportunity to share what a privilege it is to be a woman alive on the planet at this time in history. These shared experiences we then take out into the world as a contribution from our hearts, and an expression our full flourishing of life and highest calling. We gather to raise the vibration of the planet, to love and do good in the world.

In the short video below, I encourage you to do the same. Party with purpose. Celebrate each other. Gather in service. Play in love.

If you’d like curriculum ideas for your League gatherings, let me know. I’m happy to be of service. Mother Teresa once said, ““It is not how much we do, but how much love we put into what we do” and it’s that generous love that will evaluate the planet. So party on people!
