I Celebrate Polaroid!

I’m a huge Polaroid fan. Always have been. In fact, my motto used to be, “I never do a party without Polaroid.” Hence why I miss my Polaroid INSTANT camera so much!
I have this fantasy though that we can bring it back. Yes, I said we – you, me and all my other fabulous readers and viewers out there in cyberspace. Do you think if we started a letter writing campaign it would make a difference?
“Dear Polaroid-
As a party thrower allow me to express my sincere and deep depression over the loss of your INSTANT camera products. Don’t get me wrong; I like the digital age just as much as the next girl, but it’s just not the same. So can you please bring back the Polaroid One-Step, the JoyCam or the Izone with sticker film? I know you must think me old school, Polaroid, but really I’m not that antiquated. I have embraced the technological age with open iArms; I just want to be able to give my party guests instant gratification again. I want to be able to hand them a fabu picture of themselves in an adorable theme-related frame, and be dubbed the best party of the year! Is that too much to ask? Signed, Your Biggest Fan”
Of course my fantasy continues with the following response from Polaroid:
“Dear Biggest Fan-
We at Polaroid understand what a party-thrower-extraordinaire like you needs to dazzle your guests in this technological age. That’s why we created the PoGo INSTANT Digital Camera. It’s a camera and printer all in one! Each pack of film contains paper for 30 sticky-backed prints, so you can just snap, print and share images without connecting to a computer. So go ahead, take that killer group photo, view it, crop it, add a border and print out as many copies as you want to hand out in your party-terrific frames. How’s that for improved instant gratification? Oh yea, and did we mention that we’re taking preorders on the Polaroid 300? That’s a product you might be familiar with…it’s an updated version of our Classic Instant Camera and Film. Oh yes, you heard me correctly – Instant! We thought you’d be happy to know about that. Signed, YOUR Biggest Fans at Polaroid
P.S. We’ve seen your party plans online and we think you’re pretty terrific yourself. In fact, we’ve been looking for the perfect expert party planner to bring Polaroid back to its once glorious heyday. We think you’re that girl! Can we sponsor you?”
What? Fantasies do come true you know! And in the meantime I’m lending a hand at www.savepolaroid.com, apparently we can do a lot more these days than just write letters. Ah, technology. You gotta love it!

I love Polaroid too! I’ve used Polaroid pics for my teenager’s parties…the kids love that they can take the picture home with them instead of having to wait to download it! Instant gratification…ok…well maybe a minute!
Thanks so much for the idea on the themed frame to put the pic in…what an awesome idea! I’m headed to your website youcanplanaparty.com to see what other great ideas you have.
